Following Government guidelines and with much regret the committee have decided that in order to safeguard all our members and their families we should cancel the flower club meetings. At this stage we are cancelling April and the Gala in May but it may be we have to extend that into June and July but we will notify you again. Details will also be put on the website.
These are unprecedented times so we cannot easily make the best decisions but we feel it is sensible, for the survival of the club, not to spend money on demonstrators etc if we cannot recoup the costs. All being well these demonstrators can be booked again next year.
As I said in my previous email if any of you are struggling to get provisions or other essentials please do let the committee know and we’ll do our best to find someone within our community that can help. Similarly if you are self-isolating and feeling lonely let us know and we’ll find someone to give you a call and have a chat. That’s one thing we can still do.
Meanwhile do take care and hopefully the time will pass quickly so we can resume our meetings.
For those members who have bought tickets for the Gala, money will be refunded at the next meeting or, if you prefer to have it returned quicker, please contact Helen Peter.
KEEP IN TOUCH
The Committee hope that you are all well and keeping safe. As you know there no more meetings until further notice but we thought it might be nice if we kept in touch in a slightly different way.
With the extra free time we have due to self isolation and social distancing, we are sure you are doing other craft projects or even doing some floral arrangements with plants from your garden or maybe a supermarket.
It would be lovely if you would share any pictures you might have of work that you are doing or have done. Even snaps of a spring garden would, we are sure, brighten the members' days.
If you wish to submit something for publication on the site, please email email@example.com or our webmistress firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description (just a few words) about your project. Check out the Lockdown Photos page which is now live.
Take care and stay safe!
